How do I apply for a library card?

Library membership is open to all Essex Town residents. You may sign up in person or remotely. Learn more about how to register here.


What is my username and password?

Your username is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your library card. Your password is your last name in all lowercase letters.


How do I borrow a book that the library does not own?

We are a member of the Homecard library system, a cooperative lending program of 26 libraries in Northwestern Vermont. We also offer offer interlibrary loan, sometimes referred to as ILL. Checkout our interlibrary loan page  for more detailed information.
